William Mallard
Biographical Information
William Mallard , is a popular lecturer who recently completed a long and distinguished career as Professor of Church History at Candler School of Theology at Emory University. His provocative lectures and compassionate demeanor earned the affection and respect of generations of students for which he was recognized when in 1989, he received Emory's Thomas Jefferson Award, the school's most prestigious honor for service to the University. He has authored two books, The Reflection of Theology in Literature (1977) and Language and Love: Introducing Augustine's Religious Thought through the Confessions Story,(1994). Dr. Mallard has also served as an Elder in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church since 1957.
